Cochin Shipyard: LNG licence has been of no help
Apr 03: Chochin Shipyard Ltd's plans to build LNG vessels seems to be going nowhere after GAIL's attempt to get foreign builders to make one third of its requirement to import LNG from the Sabine Pass terminal did not come to fruition.
8The shipyard went ahead and signed up for a licence from GTT to build LNG ships using the containment system known as the Mark-III Technology
8Meanwhile, the shipyard is in the process of adding one more dry dock of size 310 x 75/60 x 13 M, which will enable it to undertake repairs of vessels like LNG carriers, semi-submersibles, jack up rigs, and drill ships.
