Gas hydrates can take care of India's gas demand for next millennia: Indigenous research being strengthened
Jan 25: An interesting paper suggests that the two deep-sea explorations (in 2006 and 2015) have found significant gas hydrate deposits located 50-150 m below the seabed, 5–12 km off the coast of Andhra Pradesh. 8Conservative estimates of this deposit claim that it will easily meet India's natural gas demand for the next millennia, at present consumption levels. 8Indian research institutes are now set up groups to look at a safe way of extracting this hydrocarbon resource Click on Reports to find out more
