Indian small sized refineries are being forced to expand.
8These refineries are being threatened by
-- spiraling prices of Crude oil (leading to vulnerable refinery margins)
-- inefficient infrastructure & poor product quality
-- lack of enough volumes of feedstock for petrochemical plants
-- increased cost related to regulatory & environmental compliance cost.
8Thus it is inevitable for small refineries to expand. The petroleum ministry too is supportive of these plans.
